One last hoorah before school starts!

Granny, the kids and I took a mini vaca to Galveston just to get away
for a couple days before school started.  Also, to scout out my locations
in Galveston for my mini sessions in October.
Anyways, this was what we were faced with the entire first day in Galveston
including our drive there.

Since it was raining and I couldn't really take the kids to my shooting
locations and take the pics, Granny took us to Fisherman's warf for yummy lunch
outside, on the dock, with an awesome view.  Then we headed to the Railroad
Museum right down the street.

my baby boy!

When we got to the railroad museum, I got my camera out and realized I
had forgotten my memory cards at HOME!  :-(
I had planned on taking pictures of them here for their birthday invitation
since we were going to do a train theme.  So, I just took them with my
camera on my phone.

They really had a blast and this may have been a highlight...

It was so cool especially at night!

We met some new friends while we were there!

Granny had great conversation with them.

She snoozed with them too!

The next morning was beautiful...still hot and humid but
the ocean was nice!

We went for a short walk on the seawall.

After that, we decided to take a ferry ride over to Bolivar/Crystal beach.
I hadn't been on the ferry since my bachelorette party back in 2007 and
the kids had never been on it.

They were amazed!

Best mom in the world!

This is what the bolivar beach house looks like 5 years after IKE
took it away.  Sad...I used to day dream about taking my family there
all the time!

After stopping by to see what used to be the beach house,
we headed down to Crystal Beach.  Surprisingly,
the beach was really nice and the water was pretty clear!
There was almost no seaweed.

we searched for seashells and beach glass...

Ella made a beautiful sand castle.
