Chris took Ella in for her 1 year appointment on Tuesday and it was like pulling teeth to get any details out of him...typical male.
So here are her 1 year stats...
weight: 18 lbs. 2 oz.
height: 28 1/4"
My my how she has grown! She weighed 5lbs. 13oz. and was 19" long at birth.
She is not walking quite yet but she is standing up without holding on to anything. It looks like she is going to take her sweet little time hitting that milestone...which is fine by me! :-)
Her favorite words...she says, "hi" when anyone walks by her. She says "baby" or "bebe" all the time , "momma & dada" are her favorites.
She loves rubbing anything soft...just like her momma. She sleeps with one of 3 different loveys and loves her classical music to go to sleep.
Every morning while we're on our way to Mrs. Gloria's house, we listen to Baby Einstein's Mozart or Beethoven and she usually falls asleep soon after I put that on.
She loves getting eskimo kisses from her daddy while I am nursing her. She also plays this game with him when I'm nursing...she pulls off and throws her head back and waits for him to look at her then she smiles and goes back to eating. She also loves when her daddy says, "Come to Daddy" when I'm holding her...she gets a big smile on her face and then turns towards me and buries her face in my shoulder and then turns back to him for him to say it again.
She loves her "big girl" baths (in the regular tub). She favors this little flower pot toy in which I pour water on her and tell her "I'm watering my baby bear so she can grown big and strong."
There are so many things she loves but there are also a couple things she has started not to like...
she doesn't like having her diaper changed or clothes changed unless I keep her completely engaged in something else like singing to her or talking to her in a crazy voice or giving her a toy. She also just started to not like when we put her in the car seat but soon after she is fine...it's just the initial putting her in.
The weaning process has begun so I'm sure that there is going to be something else she won't like very soon like not being able to nurse right before bed. We'll have to find a new routine that includes lots of cuddling to make up for the lost comfort of nursing...for me too! LOL
Here's a couple pics from the day Ella was born...I love thinking back to this day!
I could look at these pictures over and over!!!
Ella and I went into the bedroom after eating this morning and her daddy amd I sang her a quick little happy birthday. She grinned from ear to ear the whole time.
Here are those eskimo kisses I was talking about...she's been getting them since the day she was born.
I am getting Ella a single cupcake from Whole Foods for tonight and we are going to have our little party for her...just momma, Dada and baby bear.
We are looking forward to many new milestones and memories this coming year and of course a gazillion more pictures!
