You may have noticed that it's been a good while since I
posted picturesor anything. Well, it was not for good reason...
My macbook got drenched with tea...my bad for leaving
it on the coffee table. Never again will I leave it there...LOL
We had to take it to the apple store in the mall and they sent it off to
their repair center to put in a new logic board, LCD screen and a couple
more things were repaired too. So, as you can just imagine, I've got
tons of pictures so I am going to be posting several of them in the
next couple days. We'll start with pictures from Parker's first month
of life. He is the sweetest little bundle of miracle and much more
amazing than I could have ever imagined. Every little detail about him
makes my heart melt. He likes to have his hands up by his face when
he sleeps. Unless he is sleeping at night and that is when we still swaddle
him.
He is sleeping better now...we put him down at 10pm or so in his playyard
bassinet and then he wakes between 1:30 and 3am to eat. He goes right back
down to sleepy land and wakes again between 5:30 and 6:30am. Then he
goes down again until about 8:30 or 9am. This wasn't always the case and
what you are about to read is much different than Ella was during her first
month of life. She pretty much woke up 1 time during the night during the
first month and then by 6 weeks she would sleep from 10:30pm to 4:30 - 5am
Then it just got later and later. My little man on the other hand wanted to be
arms and nursed up to 5 times in the middle of the night. Chris calls him a
momma's boy.
We took him in for his 1 month checkup and he had gained 2 lbs. in just 3 weeks!
Little chunkers! His face/cheeks have really filled out and he grew into his skin fast
like Ella did. He weighed 8lbs. 8oz. and was 20.5 inches long at his 1 month visit.
He also had to get the little skin beneath his tongue snipped. He had something
called tongue tie where the skin attaches to far up underneath the tongue making it
hard for him to get a good latch on while nursing. So, he is doing better now and
growing like a weed!
He's a grunter! He squeaks and grunts all the time. He smiles often and sleeps a lot.
He has quite a bit of gas but it usually passes within a couple minutes after he toots
like a grown man! LOL or burps. Every time he "toots," Ella immediately says,
"Ooooh, Parker pooted!" LOL It's hilarious and sometimes she thinks myself or
Chris did it if we are holding him.
Speaking of her saying this...Ella and I went into Ben Bridge Jewelers to get my
necklace repaired while we were at the mall taking my laptop into apple and
while we were at the counter, Ella in my arms, in the sling, on my hip, she tooted
and said loudly, "Ooooooh, Ella pooted!" I was like, "Oh that's great sugar bear!"
I don't think the guy who was helping us even noticed but I was cracking up.
OK back to Parker...I still look at him and am in amazement that he is here! I feel
like the first month passed so quickly and now I will have to go back to work in
just a couple weeks :-( But, I have so enjoyed every minute chaotic or not that I
have been home with both Ella & Parker. Don't get me wrong, it's been a big
adjustment mainly with Ella and her adjusting to being at home with me, not going
to the babysitter and turning two. She loves her little brother and is an amazing big
sister already. Most of the time she is very gentle with him but there have been time
when she gets a little rough. My friend Tracy put it perfectly and so eliqouently as
always and I quote...
"These images remind me of what it feels like to
have that perfect little newborn and how I could
just stare for hours at their

tiny, miniature features...and how each little
spastic movement as they got used to living in
a big world and not enclosed up tight in a womb
brought a fresh, giddy little smile to my face...

gave as they slept brought an indescribable joy
that only another parent could understand."

"Ahhh, I was one mother that was in pure heaven
with my newborns. I didn't mind the crying or sleepless
nights, or the sudden loss of any and all personal time or
space. I had found (or been given really) a new kind of
love so powerful and consuming that made those other
"inconveniences" completely meaningless and trivial."

I wish I could write like she does and say exactly what is in my
heart but it doesn't usually come out like this.

By the way...she is speaking of the pictures she took of Parker for us only a week
after he got home. As soon as I get those pics, I'll post them as I am sure they
will be totally awesome!
Here are a couple pictures of Parker and some of Ella too from the last
mont or so...

He reminded me of Ella so much when she was a newborn and the
facial expressions and movements she made while we gave her a bath.

Ella helped give Parker his bath and poured water on his legs.
He didn't like getting out just like Ella at first but he is better at that
part now.
This is our new double stroller. It was one of our first times
out of the house on a walk around the neighborhood. We call it the
"The Miller Limousine"
My mom's friend, Kim came over to visit while my mom was with us for the
first week.
Granny & Parker
Ella with my sunglasses.
Ella loves to hold Parker. She often says, "Ella hold him."
Oh and she loves giving him kisses! This child has no shortage of
love, hugs and kisses...that's for sure!
Ella has started nursing her babies! This makes me tear up every time
I see her doing this. While I nurse Parker, she gets her baby or bear or
Raggedy Ann and pulls up her shirt and puts their head to her chest
to nurse. I love it. She is already so nurturing!
More bath pictures...notice his belly is quite a bit bigger than the bath
pics above. These were last week. Chris took them while I bathed
Parker.
OK so I have tons more pictures to post but I didn't want to overwhelm
you so I'll post more tomorrow...hopefully. :-)
I have my 6 week post op check up and am still experiencing some pain
so hopefully everything is ok which I am sure it will be.
Hope everyone has a happy hump day...Wednesday and God Bless!
