Our trip to Kerrville & Austin

I'll have to warn you now that every picture here was taken with my phone
because my camera BROKE!  yep...it was my back up to my main
camera and it went haywire!  So the quality is my crapy phone camera!

Two days after Christmas we started our road trip Kerrville and the hill country!
We stopped in Austin to take a look at the Awesome waldorf school there
(freaking awesome!) and then headed on to Kerrville!

We got there around 6:30pm and Kathy (Naner) had dinner ready for us
(chicken enchiladas) yummmmmm!!!

The next day was the only day there was any sun at all during the
entire trip!  I'm not going to lie...I usually love the rain and gloomy days
but I seriously needed the sun to come out once we got home and
it still didn't come out for a couple days!

Anyways, we enjoyed "exploring" Poppa Joe and Naner's land
with all the trees and friendly animals including the horses and
goats.  It was so beautiful and peaceful out there and
I really enjoyed it!

These are their neighbor's horses...they were very friendly
especially with me.  The black stallion over there kept nudging me to
pet him!  lol

Ella and Parker both LOVED them!

Aren't they beautiful creatures!

I don't know why but I loved watching these two explore on this new terrain!

They had so much fun!

LOVE!!!

A Woman and her stick!  lol

Love this pic of Peanut!  As you can tell in the background, they have lost a lot of
trees (beautiful old OAKS) to a fungus that is running through the hill country :-(
I love trees!

Later that first day in Kerrville (really Harper where Poppa Joe and Naner live)
we went to visit Chris' Aunt Kay and Uncle Creed who live in Kerrville while
Naner and Poppa Joe worked.  This pic of Ella was in the back yard on Aunt Kay's
beautiful property! We had a good time there just catching up with them!

My sweet baby girl!

Oh how I LOVE them!!!

Making sure Momma's in the pictures!

Don't know what it was about being in the hill country that made it
so peaceful but I LOVED it!

That night, Naner got home around 9pm from work and soaked up some time with the kiddos.

The next day was Saturday and Naner took me into town to get some WINE :-)
and showed me some sights on the way...This was Ingram Dam.  She said they used to slide
down it when they were teenagers.

You probably cannot see this very well but there are 3 beautiful long horns
off in the distance here.

Beautiful hill country skies!  I definitely saw some of the most beautiful
sunsets ever there!

This was the Guadalupe River in Ingram...gorgeous!

Way more beautiful than this picture shows!

Once of the nights, while Naner and Poppa Joe hung out with the
kids and kept them occupied, Chris and I sat outside in the 30 degree
weather and enjoyed a couple drinks by a warm fire just hanging out.

The next day was Football Sunday and during the game
Ella, Parker and Naner were making some sugar cookies
which were fabulous!
Ella had a blast doing this...Peanut lost
interest pretty quick...lol
Naner made some really great appetizers and then some
fabulous roast that night!!!

The end result.

love my boy!

Parker got flour all over him!  :-)

I remember my pawpaw riding one of these down in Bolivar all the time!

Monday (new Years eve, Ella and I went out for one last exploration before leaving to
Austin.

A girl after my own heart...walking on the balance beam...lol

We left for Austin around lunch time New Year Eve day.
And stopped in Fredricksberg for lunch at the Brewery.

We arrived in Austin at Vintage Villas, the hotel we were going to stay at
for the night and holy cow it was awesome!  We had a king corner suite
with a private balcony overlooking Lake Travis.  Not sure if they were handing
out deals since it was the last minute or what but we got a smoking deal!

Not the best weather but still a beautiful view of Lake Travis!

My favorite thing about the room....

I LOVE baths!!!

We ended up staying in for New Years insyead of going out to eat with the kiddos
because it was nasty and rainy.  We had burgers and fries in the room and a couple glasses
of wine and pretty much feel asleep by 11pm but were trying to stay awake to see if there were any
fireworks over the lake.  NONE!

Happy New Year!!!

God Bless!
