Our Frio River Trip 7/12-7/16

Our 2nd annual trip to the frio river with Blake, Leah, Ethan and baby boy
Lowry on the way was awesome fun once again!
We left Friday morning and got their shortly after lunch.
This was the beautiful open sky once we turned on to 127 headed
 to Concan.

Love this picture of us!!!

After setting up the camper and getting settled in, we got our bathing suits on
and headed down to the river before dinner.

There were two huge piles of dirt/rocks next to our campsite
that the kids played in each evening when we returned back from the
river.  They got so dirty that we had to give them showers every night
while we were there but they had a blast playing in it!

Our set up

The river was beautiful! get ready for tons of landscape pics all taken with my
awesome camera phone.

Blake had been looking for one of these hats for a long time!

Uncle Blake showing us the little Lowry bun in the oven

I couldn't help but take this one!

uncle blake

uncle blake and aunt leah got chris a hat too.
Blake couldn't wear one without his brother having one too.

couldn't pass up the chance to take a mustache pic!
and you see Ella's  little shiner under her eye...
Ethan got her with a rock on accident but it was kind of scary!
she was fine after a little while though and ethan apologized several times.
He even called the day after they got home to see how her booboo was doing.

uncle blake, aunt leah and ethan left early Monday morning so we had one more day
but it was raining almost all day.  For the most part of the rainy day, the kids played our in it
as long as there was no lightning.  Then Daddy put on a couple of their favorite songs and asked each of them to dance in the rain with him.  I couldn't get my phone out fast enough
to catch daddy and parker dancing but did get ella and daddy.

there were some very sweet moments on this rainy day!
We headed down to the river once it stopped raining
just to get one last dip in the beautiful water.  Although ella and I were
ok, daddy and parker said they were pretty cold after an hour or so.
we headed back to camp and started cooking our last dinner there.
we grilled pork ribeye chops and corn on the cob and it was fantastic!

we had awesome meals the whole time we were there...
hamburgers
frito pies
bbq chicken, grilled zuchinni and mac n cheese
yummy!

love love love our babies!

we took this pic to remind us to go to seven bluff next year.

we took a short but beautiful drive up river rd and onto 8.

following last year's tradition, on our way out of Concan, we stopped
at Neal's dinning room for lunch and the view! it was still storming pretty hard.

And our drive home was mostly a wet one with a few dry moments.

God blessed us with a wonderful trip and got us home safely!
