Parker's 4th Birthday

My sweet boy...4 years old already...my how time flies when we are having fun!
We went to Parker's school to join him for his birthday celebration
on Friday with his class and boy was he excited!
But, before he saw me,
I watched him in the garden, playing,
like a big boy, full of wonder,
immagination, love, happiness and
energy!  Ella saw me in the truck and asked
Mrs. Helen if she could go over to the garden to be with
Parker and us while we had our celebration.
She went over to him and they hugged,
still not having seen me watching.
Parker was so excited to see his sister!
When he saw us, he ran over and
gave us each BIG hugs!

Chris wrote a little something to share about Parker
during his rainbow bridge celebration...

Things to share about Parker
Lady bugs
Bugs in general
Flowers
He loves a challenge especially
when it comes to his sister
He’s very determined
He has a big heart and he wears it on his sleeve
He really enjoys playing outdoors and he
really likes mud. This is where he feels most comfortable.
He learned very quickly a few months ago
how to ride a bike
He likes to paint and draw. His specialty is hearts
and rainbows at the moment.
He enjoys playing the harmonica and recorder and
likes to practice percussion with anything he can
get his hands on and if he can’t find anything he
will show you a neat “hand shake” or rhythm
with just his hands.
He likes to dance while daddy
plays the guitar.
He is sweet to his sister, Ella, and likes to take care of her.
He has told us that one day he would like to
control a big machine like a dump truck, bull dozer or train.
He likes to lay down and look up at the stars
He contemplates ideas and asks big questions
such as, “daddy,is god in the trees and everything else?”
And my answer is “absolutely, bud, god is in
everything we can see and everything we cannot see.”
He loves his grandma and usually does anything she says.
I wish we had that ability.
Parker is a very dynamic little boy and it would take
me hours sharing with you who he is but this is a good start.

On Saturday, his birthday, Oct. 11, 2014
we woke up together at Granny and Poppa's...
he on the floor on a pallet and me on the couch and
he said, "Mommy, is I 4 now?"
He and Ella went with Granny to Avery & Brynn's
birthday party that morning, where Meredith and Carl
acknowledged his birthday with a special cupcake of his own
and sang happy birthday to him.

After the party, while I was at Granny and Poppa's
preparing all the food and things for his birthday party,
they went back to Uncle Blake and Aunt Leah's house.
I picked them up late afternoon and Daddy, Ella, Parker and I
went to The Hook for dinner where we knew they
would love to play. We were going to go for ice cream afterwards
but our waitress brought the kids a sunday for his birthday!

Sunday morning was his party and boy was he excited!
We made it all things he LOVES...flowers, ladybugs,
sandwiches, cupcakes with a sparkler no. 4 candle,
pinata, family, cousins and play time at the park.

His birthday weekend was pretty awesome if
I do say so myself!  I know he had a blast and felt
very special...I could see it in his sweet little smile!
