Lake Conroe with Papa Joe and Naner

A couple weekends ago Papa Joe, Nana (Kathy-Naner), Taylor & Toni (Chris' cousins) came to visit us for an extended weekend.
They came in on Thursday afternoon and went back to Kerrville Sunday afternoon. We don't get to see them often (only 2 to 3 times a year) so it was nice being able to spend the whole weekend with them. Most of the pictures below are all from Kathy's camera.
Ella finally got to wear the outfit Papa Joe and Naner gave her the last time we saw them in March. It finally fit her!
Ella couldn't wait to show them she could crawl!

I caught this little moment of Papa Joe kissing Ella Bear...so sweet!
Friday night we went out to Lake Conroe to spend the weekend in a cabin at the Piney Shores resort. Saturday we hung out by the lake and had a little picnic. Kathy (Naner) was happy so got to hang out with Ella a lot more than when we visited them in Kerrville. Chris and Papa Joe made frito pies Saturday night and Naner made breakfast the next morning. She made this wonderful "Southwest" bread with eggs and bacon. It was tasty!
I love this picture of Ella and her daddy!
This one too!
I have given Ella more kisses in the last nine months than I think I have given in my entire life!

Chris and his dad played a little horseshoes.

This was Ella's first time at the lake.

Sunday morning before heading home...Ella licking the bowl after eating her oatmeal and naners.

Friday night we had a much needed date night. I cooked shrimp & mushroom linguini for the first time. It was yummy! We started off with Ceasar salads then the linguini (I forgot the bread in the oven so we ate the bread later) and then for dessert I tried something different but it didn't turn out how I expected. It was frozen peaches, pineapple & coconut blended together to make kind of like a pinacolada sorbet. I think I put too much coconut and the peaches were too frozen so they wouldn't break up very well. Before we watched our movies we watched some Ella TV (Ella pulling up on everything). She pretty much stays on her tippie toes...our little ballerina...I love it!
Peek a boo...
I love this expression! Who am I kidding, I love all of her expressions!
Anyways, we watched 17 again which was surprisingly hilarious! I thought it would be kindof corney with Zac Efron in it but Chris and I were both laughing throughout the whole movie! Then we watched a scarey movie in which I don't even remember the name of...obviously it was boring! Saturday my mom, Ella & I went to see my grandma and for Ella to meet her great grandma for the first time. My grandma smiled when she saw Ella! She doesn't usually smile anymore so this was really awesome! She's had Parkinson's Disease for some time now and had a reaction to her medication right after my Pawpaw passed away 3 1/2 years ago which caused her to have an extremely high fever and damaged her brain. So, she doesn't know who we are or at least that is how it seems but who knows maybe she just can't express it. Anyways, she reached over to Ella and held her foot and then when my momma was sitting next to my grandma holding Ella, she reached over and put her hand on my grandma's arm. It was really sweet!

I have one more picture to share with all 4 of us (Grandma, my momma, me and Ella - 4 generations) but it's on my mom's camera so I'll post it as soon as I get it.
After leaving the nursing home we went to visit Gia Bella & Theresa. My mom and I took them one of my favorite dinners (stuffed red peppers) and dessert (chocolate cheese cake) and we got to hold that little angel! She was wearing one of the little onesies Chris and I got her and she looked so freaking cute! Ella got to meet her new little friend too and smiled really big when she saw Gia. She may have been smiling at Gia's toys though...LOL

I have several more to post of Gia but didn't get around to uploading them so I'll post those later too.
My mom and I ate at Salata in Vintage Park and then went back to the house. We watched the Texans Saturday night, I did lots of editing and then hit the hay after that.
Sunday, we went to Navasota for a YUMMY lunch/dinner at Grandma Glenda & Pappy's house. We had the best fried chicken ever besides my Memaw's and KK's of course, baked potato salad, sweet corn, pickled cucmbers and tomatoes and warm rolls. For dessert we had peach cobbler, some kind of lemon pie and vanilla ice cream. It was so good! I took a couple pictures there of Sofia and Ella and will post those later next week.
Here are some pictures I took of Ella crawling into the kitchen and then trying to stand up on one of the chairs.
Since we moved out of our townhome back at the beginning of May and into Jodi's house for a month, Ella has been sleeping in her play yard in the same room with us. She was doing great sleeping in her crib in her own room but then since we moved and were in transition so long she got used to her play yard. We haven't moved her back up into her crib yet because her room is not finished and even though it really doesn't matter, I wanted it complete (everything hung and put into it's place) before we started trying to get her back into her crib. I know it's going to be a little more difficult now since she is way more aware but we are going to give it a try starting tonight and I'll sleep in the guest room for a week or so until she gets used to it again. I'll let you know how that goes next post.
Hope ya'll have a great weekend and God Bless!
